SERVICE IDEAS
Unrelated to real estate but I have my own website and can do what I want. ;)
If you follow me on social media, you'll see that I make a conscious effort to look for service opportunities for my family. I wasn't satisfied with enough service projects that our local congregation was offerings so I took matters into my own hands and started signing us up for projects.
Below are service projects we have done and have loved!!

Tiny Tim's
Foundation for Kids
This is the girls #1 choice!
This foundation collects wood scraps and turns them into toy cars for children all over the world. They take small groups on a T/W/Th night and you help attach the screws. There are other jobs but this one is great for kids to work with their hands and learn how to use a little electric screwdriver.

Rescue Food
This is their 2nd favorite choice!
This company 'rescues' food that can't be sold as stores and re-sells it at a major discount or re-purposes it. It's usually a little bit damaged or barely expired. For example - grapes past their expiration date but not bad -- we clean and prepped to be freeze dried to eat later. We helped pull orders and get them ready for pick up the next day.
How to sign up:
Google 'Rescue Food Orem' and the first option will be the app Just Serve - sign up through there or email

USANA Kids Eats
Loved this one too!
Kids 5+ (with parent) can help pack backpacks of food for local kids who need meals on the weekends. They have a great set up that is super easy to understand. They blast the tunes and hit the button after every backpack to keep track of your count. If you hit the backpack requirement, they need additonal help unpacking food and getting bins ready for the next group.
This one can be hard to get into, so plan ahead!

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches
I loved this one but it does take some pre-planning. CCS constantly needs people to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the homeless. They pass these out at dinner for them to have a lunch the next day.
CCS PROVIDES all the peanut butter, jelly and bread!! You supply the people, sandwiches baggies, gloves, hair nets and time. You do need to pick up supplies downtown in the am, make sandwiches that night and return them the next morning and they request that you make 300... We had 12 girls under age 12 who in an hour made about 180 and then Ross and I finished the rest later that night.

Feed My Starving Children
LOVED this one but it's hard to find. They are not headquartered in UT so they come here is someone is sponsoring a moblie pack. We found them through a church in Syracuse and drove up on a Sunday.
This company provides 'manna packs' to children in 3rd world countries. Its a potato and veggie dehydrated food source where they can add fresh water and have a meal that has 1200 calorie in it.
Go to their website:
fmsc.org
and you can be notified if there will be a mobile pack in your area.

Burrito Project
